Troop 33 was first started in 1925, then closed in 1978, and reopened in 1981. Through that time period they lost a lot of scouts and had to close again. The WEONA Park Scout Hall was then restored by a group of Scouters, including Larry Feller, our Scoutmaster and Tony Rando, one of our Assistant Scoutmasters in 1997; they then rechartered Troop 33 in 1999.

On our campouts we leave Friday between 4:30 and 5:00. When we arrive we set up camp and prepare for dinner. When we clean up after dinner we go on a hike with one of our leaders, Nick Hensue, or sit by the fire and tell stories about past events in scouting. The leaders go to sleep at1o:30. The scouts go around 3:00. Saturday morning, everyone but John wakes up around 7:30. Then we cook breakfast over open fires and have fun until lunch. Then we hike some more or practice various scout skills. After dinner, we have a court of honor, which is a ceremony were all scouts who have made outstanding achievements are recognized. Afterwards we sleep until 8:00 Sunday morning. After breakfast we clean up and have a religious service, led by our Troop Chaplain, Dave Werner. We usually get home around 2:00. We camp year round, always in tents and have camped in zero degrees. It was great! We also go to summer camp and are going to London & Wales this summer.

Our Scoutmaster is Larry Feller, his Assistant Scoutmasters are Nick Henshue, Dave Werner (who is also the Chaplain), Jeff Martin Tony Rando, Charles Christopher, and Mark Gwozdz. Mark Newman is our Committee Chairman. Ricki Feller is Secretary, Diana Ruggiero is our Treasurer, and Kathy McCarty is Advancement Chairman.

Jason Mullikin is our Senior Patrol Leader (S.P.L.), and Mike McGowan is his Assistant (S.P.L.). Joe Ruggiero, Randy Werner, and Allen McGowan are our Troop Instructors and Guide, Matt McCarty is Jr. Assistant Scoutmaster and our Troop Historian, and Dave Levits is our Troop Guide. Jordan Martin is a Patrol Leader and Grubmaster, his Assistant Patrol leader is Tim Uliana who is also the Cheermaster. Kevin Geklinsky is Troop Webmaster and in the Color Guard along with Jack Schippers, Don Kemmerer, and Allen McGowan. John Feller (yours truly) is the Chaplains Aid and Scribe, and Brandon Rando is a Patrol Leader and Quartermaster. The scouts who don’t have any positions are Trevor Levits, Charles Christopher, Anthony Rando, Steven Ryerson, and Josh Peters.
