Pen Argyl Borough Council held a Special Meeting on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 7:00 P.M.
in Council Chambers.
The Special Meeting was held for Council to discuss and with the intent to award the bid for the Wastewater Treatment Plant sludge removal project and for general purposes.
Pledge of Allegiance:
Council Vice-President Dean Minnich opened the Council Meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.
The following Council members were present and responded to roll call: Charles Kandl Jr., Joseph LeDonne, Dean Minnich, Roberta Cowley and Angelo Uliana. Council President Michael Nasatka and Councilman Robert O’Donnell were absent.
Also present were Borough Solicitor Peter Layman and Borough Manager Robin Zmoda.
Sludge Hauling Bids:
The Borough received three (3) bids for Sludge Hauling, the amounts shown on the bids were:
Waste Management, $57,000.00; J.P. Mascaro & Sons, $63,450.00 and Amerigreen Inc., $71,400.00.
RETTEW recommended the Borough accept the Waste Management bid. Councilman Angelo Uliana made a motion to accept Waste Management’s bid contingent upon review of legal documents by solicitor, seconded by Councilman Charles Kandl, Jr. Unanimous vote by roll call.
Handicap Parking Space Application:
Council was given a copy of a handicap parking space application for Clifford Williams, 20 Davey Avenue. The application was complete and included all required documentation. The property does not have off street parking. Councilwoman Roberta Cowley, made a motion to approve the application, seconded by Councilman Angelo Uliana. Unanimous vote by roll call.
Councilwoman Roberta Cowley made a motion to approve the Minutes for the Regular Council Meeting of Tuesday, March 7, 2017, seconded by Councilman Joseph LeDonne. Unanimous vote by roll call.
Faith United Presbyterian Church, 218 W. Pennsylvania Avenue, requested permission to close S. Heller Avenue south of W. Pennsylvania Avenue to the alley behind the church on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 1:00 P. M. to 9:00 P. M. for their annual Strawberry Festival. Councilwoman Roberta Cowley made a motion to grant permission to Faith United Presbyterian Church to close S. Heller Avenue as requested, seconded by Councilman Charles Kandl Jr. Unanimous vote by roll call.
Councilman Joseph LeDonne made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Charles Kandl Jr. Unanimous by voice vote. Council adjourned at 7:16 P.M
